T-Mobile G1 now available in frosty white

We’ve heard that it’s been showing up on doorsteps and in stores for a few days now, but T-Mobile has just officially given the word that the G1 is now available in white to complement bronze and the especially personality-free black (not to say there’s anything wrong with that, black G1 owners). The price, hardware, and software are all the same, so if you thought this release might...

ASUS' 12-inch bamboo laptop gets a price

ASUS may have been beaten to the punch by a few other companies and their bamboo-ensconced offerings, but it looks like it’s now getting its first bamboo laptop out the door at long last, and it’s taken the opportunity to finally get official with a price. Apparently, the first few 12-inch models will go on sale at Taiwan’s IT Month exhibition on Saturday, where they’ll run...

Peek email device: now with text messaging and image viewing capabilities

It’s barely been two days since we heard that “Dan” at Peek had opened a suggestion box for would-be customers to recommend “minor” tweaks for their email only handheld, so we assume today’s news is unrelated. Regardless, there was a pretty decent upgrade to the device last night, adding the ability to view image attachments, as well as text messaging capabilities....

Honda's FC Sport fuel-cell hybrid debuts in a puff of conceptual smoke

If the Tesla Roadster has proven anything other than the disruptive effects of a hyper-inflated ego, it’s that well designed eco-vehicles will sell… at any price. Yet the general design theme amongst hybrid builders appears to be your grandfather’s loafer. Honda too, just look at the FCX Clarity. So we’re pretty stoked to see Honda roll out its FC Sport concept three-seater...

Samsung Omnia makes official Verizon appearance

Not that we’ve any reason to be shocked here, but Samsung’s Omnia is indeed coming to Verizon Wireless. ‘Course, most everyone with any remote affiliation to Big Red is frenzied over that other phone today, but those with a soft spot for Windows Mobile 6.1 may want to give this one a bit of attention. You know the highlight specs by now — a 5-megapixel camera / camcorder, full...

Hitachi introduces trio of ultra-bright projectors

Hitachi’s latest trifecta wasn’t designed for your surely swank abode per se, but we suppose those with enough cash and willpower can do anything they darn well please. That said, the CP-X10000 (1,024 x 768), CP-WX11000 (1,280 x 800) and CP-SX12000 (1,400 x 1,050) can all handle professional (read: lit) settings with ease, featuring 7,500 / 6,500 / 7,000 lumens, respectively. The whole...

HP shows off Atom-powered mini-Q nettop in Taiwan

It’s no slate PC / digiframe hybrid, but it is a touch unorthodox. HP Compaq is reportedly preparing to launch a mini-Q nettop, though it could ship under a totally less exciting Presario 2030 / 2020 moniker. Packed within the diminutive box will be an Atom 330 / 230 CPU (respectively), Windows Vista / XP (also respectively), 2GB of DDR2 RAM, a 160GB 7,200RPM hard drive, dual-layer DVD writer...

Apple's refreshed MacBook Air

You know those spec-bumped MacBook Airs that were announced around a fortnight ago alongside those shiny (literally) new MacBooks / MacBook Pros? Yeah, well they’re shipping. Reports filled with intense levels of joviality are beginning to spring up on Mac message boards the intarwebz over, and within them are proclamations of tracking number receipts. Sure, a new NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics...

Aspire One shipments on pace to beat Eee PC

Acer’s Aspire One has been somewhat overlooked in the face of a relentless barrage of Eee PCs and other netbooks, but slow and steady tends to win the race — Acer says it’s on track to ship six million machines this year, which is ahead of ASUS’s target of five million Eees. Acer’s mostly pulled into the lead due to its size and ability to push the Aspire One globally,...
